Since TrendMiner version 2023.R3.0 configuration settings have been split up between Edge Manager and ConfigHub. This way, tasks specific to infrastructure admins and system admins are clearly separated and access permissions can be aligned with your organizational structure.

Edge Manager is the TrendMiner interface for infrastructure admins. It mainly contains functionality to keep your TrendMiner installation healthy and up-to-date. Edge Manager is not available to SaaS customers as infrastructure administration is taken care of by the TrendMiner team. On virtual appliances, some additional menus for virtual appliance configuration will be available, which do not appear on self-managed single node or private cloud setups. The following tasks can be done from Edge Manager:

  • Checking the health status of TrendMiner services
  • Downloading appliance logs for troubleshooting purposes
  • Gaining insights into memory usage, disk usage (including adding more disk space), CPU usage and time settings
  • Creating, downloading and restoring backups
  • Checking and updating the TrendMiner license sversion 2024.R1.0 and newer]
  • Initiating a TrendMiner upgrade
  • Rebooting and shutting down the TrendMiner server evirtual appliances only]
  • Updating the Edge Manager password
  • Recovering access to ConfigHub uversion 2024.R1.0 and newer]
  • Configuring SSL Sversion 2024.R1.0 and newer]
  • Configuring appliance monitoring, network and general settings (server name and NTP) Pvirtual appliances only]

ConfigHub is the interface for system admins. It contains TrendMiner specific configuration options:

  • Checking the health status of TrendMiner services
  • Email configuration (for monitoring purposes)
  • Homepage configuration (adding company logo, messages and contact details)
  • Creating, downloading and restoring backups
  • Users, groups and clients management, including setting up data source permissions and setting up single-sign on
  • Setting up, managing and troubleshooting connections to data sources (time series, event and asset data)
  • Allowing domains to be used in DashHub external content tiles

As you probably noticed, the services health status and backup functionality is shared between Edge Manager, as they are important to both infrastructure and system admins. More information on Edge Manager and ConfigHub can be found on documentation.trendminer.com under "Technical Support Resources".
