Is your TrendMiner version still supported? Understanding the version lifecycle

The TrendMiner version lifecycle policy is something many admins only discover after something goes wrong. This post explains what it means and what kind of support you can expect at each level. For the current list of supported versions and end of life dates, always refer to the TrendMiner Lifecycle page.

Support levels

Every major TrendMiner release has a support level associated with it. Minor versions always inherit the same support level as their major release.

Full support (latest and latest − 1) : The two most recent major releases receive full SLA coverage. High-impact bugs and security issues are actively patched, and fixes for low-impact issues are included in the next release. Patches are released periodically — subscribe to the patch notification form to stay informed, or check the Patch Release Updates page directly.

Upgrade support (at least 1 year after release date) : Once a version falls outside the two most recent releases, it enters upgrade support. Only upgrade-blocking bugs are patched. Upgrades to and from this version are still supported within the standard SLA, but all other issues will not be investigated — you will be asked to upgrade to a supported version first.

End of life :  Installation and upgrade packages are removed from the download server, documentation is unpublished, and no new patches or licenses can be generated. Edge Manager remains accessible, but other hubs access will be lost once the existing license expires. Support tickets/cases will be denied.

Extended upgrade support (at least 15 months after release date) : An upgrade may still be possible after end of life, but it is not covered by the standard SLA, comes at a service fee, and is not guaranteed to succeed. Once this window closes, a clean installation of a supported release is the only path forward. Contact your CSM or TrendMiner support for an offer.

Deprecations — features with a sunset date

Individual features and integrations have their own deprecation timelines, separate from version lifecycle. Check the End of Support Notices page when upgrading to see what is being phased out and what migration steps are needed.

What to do if you're on an outdated version

If your version is no longer supported, the path forward is to upgrade. Before you do, check the upgrade prerequisites for your target version — it lists the minimum version you must be on first, required disk space, and any breaking API changes you need to handle. And always take a VM snapshot before starting.

If you want a deeper walkthrough, we covered the full upgrade process — including technical best practices and the Upgrade Center — in the Managing TrendMiner Upgrades with Confidence webinar recording. Worth watching before your next upgrade.

If you are unsure about your version status or upgrade path, drop a comment below or open a support ticket — the sooner you act, the more options you have.
