Sometimes when upgrading TrendMiner, it looks like nothing is happening after clicking Start Upgrade or after the file upload has completed.
Below are the most common reasons why the upgrade might not start — and how to fix them:

1. Corrupted Upgrade Package

In some cases, the upgrade package can get corrupted during download.
It will appear to upload successfully, but the upgrade never starts.

You can verify the integrity of your package by following this article:

If the checksum doesn’t match, re-download the file before trying again.

2. Wrong Upgrade Package (pre-2024.R3.1 versions)

For older TrendMiner versions, there are two different upgrade packages:

  • MLHub

  • Non-MLHub

If you upload the wrong package type, the upload completes but the upgrade won’t start.
Make sure to select the package that matches your license type (Basic or MLHub).

💡 Starting from version 2024.R3.1, there’s only one unified upgrade package — no more confusion!

3. Network Interference

If you’re running the upgrade from a device on a different network or connected via VPN, a firewall or proxy might block the upload or interrupt the connection.
Try to perform the upgrade from a machine within the same LAN as the TrendMiner server.

4. Use the alternative Edge Manager URL

Edge Manager can be accessed in two ways:

  • Via your TrendMiner URL: https://<your-trendminer-url>/edge

  • Via the direct IP on HTTP and port 8080: http://<your-trendminer-ip-address>:8080

If the upload fails or seems stuck when using the “/edge” address, try the second option through port 8080 instead.

5. Don’t Forget the Final Step

After selecting the correct upgrade file, make sure to click the “Upgrade System” button.
Only then will the upload and upgrade process actually begin.
