Hey,

we observed that fingerprints created on tags can not be used for their correspondet attributes. For example:

The pressure of a reactor vessel is called A100P01/MESS.XABS and mapped to the attribute ‘Reactor pressure’. When a fingerprint for the reactor rpessure is created using the tag name, the fingerprint can not be displayed when the Reactor pressure is added to the view as the attribute ‘Reactor pressure’ although the attribute references the tag name in the attribute.

I’d consider this a bug since the link between attributes and tags is given in the AF structure.

Hi @Shams92

While attributes can indeed be linked to tags, these are 2 different concepts in TrendMiner. At the moment, fingerprints based on tags apply when loading tags, and fingerprints based on attributes apply when loading attributes indeed. While an attribute can only be linked to 1 tag, 1 tag can be linked to multiple attributes, which brings a lot of complications when the 2 concepts are mixed.

The best practice would be to always stick to one concept: if you have an Asset Framework in place, load your timeseries data via the asset structure (attributes); if not, load tags directly.

You are of course welcome to add this as a Product Idea on this Community, so our Product Team can look into this further.

Kind regards,
Jef
