Step 1: Identify a strategic process
The identified process should be equipped with the required sensors to capture the data needed for analysis and monitoring. Choosing a high-value process ensures importance within the organization. A process that is similar across multiple lines or factories is preferred as that increases the scale at which the solution can be deployed.
Step 2: Gather expert insights
The process experts of the identified process have extensive knowledge on how the assets should operate to achieve optimal results. Gathering and organizing a conversation between the process experts yields the information we need for the next step.
Step 3: Define Process limits
Once the ideal operating zones for the process assets are defined, they can be translated to defined limits on top of the collected time-series data. The workflow to set this up in TrendMiner is to configure a search based on the identified limits, saving the search and creating a monitor on top. To realize the next step it is important to have the monitor create context items. The results of this step would be a large quantity of searches with configured monitors that generate event data.
Step 4: Create actionable dashboards
The event data created by the monitors is now used to create different ContextHub views. The views are added to a dashboard to create a real-time overview of the process. A full dashboard contains the event data views, monitor tiles and time-series view tiles to enable the shopfloor to make quick data-driven decisions.
Step 5: Operationalize at scale
Once the solution has proven valuable, the next step is to scale the solution to next assets, lines, and factories. To automate the process of replication we advise a conversation with your Customer Success Manager.
