Looking to get more out of TrendMiner in the second half of the year? Here are some key goals our most successful customers have set for themselves, along with concrete steps you can take now to get them moving...

✅ Drive Adoption & Engagement

  • Survey your user base – Run a quick poll or informal interviews to uncover training needs, knowledge gaps, and barriers to wider use. Make sure to act on their feedback!

  • Promote TrendMiner Coaches – Identify 2-3 power users and empower them to support others with a toolkit including templates, tips, and mini training sessions.

  • Create internal buzz – Share wins, dashboards, and success stories in team meetings or internal channels to keep TrendMiner top of mind.

📊 Automate Routine Reporting

  • List your top 3 manual reports – Ask your teams which reports are eating up time. Then work on automating them through TrendMiner views, searches, context items and dashboards.

  • Embed reports where work happens – Link dashboards in shift handover tools, plant displays, or process documentation so insights are always visible.

  • Retire that Excel file – Pick one spreadsheet to eliminate this quarter. Prove it can be done, then scale.

📈 Standardize Dashboards & KPIs

  • Define a "core" dashboard template – Agree on layout, KPIs, and naming conventions for one focus area (like throughput or quality). Start there.

  • Roll out plant-wide – Clone and adjust that dashboard for similar assets across the site or multiple sites. Reuse what works.

  • Document it – Make a quick SOP or internal documentation page so others can replicate and maintain the standards.

🔗 Expand Data Integrations

  • Prioritize what's missing – Is there a key time series datapoint, batch context, or external data source (like LIMS) you wish you had? List and rank them.

  • Talk to your data team – Set up short syncs to explore adding those sources, based on the TrendMiner documentation. Often it’s more doable than you think.

  • Start your asset tree – Even a basic one can help with navigation, adding context data, and structuring your analysis.

🚀 Boost Operational Performance

  • Target one recurring issue – Like pump failures, temperature swings, or long changeovers. Gather some process experts to analyze it together in TrendMiner.

  • Build a monitoring view – Create a dashboard that makes it easy to track that problem over time, and set up monitors to be alerted whenever it happens.

  • Share the story – If you reduce downtime or improve a cycle, capture the before/after and share it internally.

💸 Reduce Production Costs

  • Benchmark best runs – Use searches and overlays to identify your most efficient batches or production periods as a baseline.

  • Compare underperformers – Analyze lower-performing runs and periods against the benchmark to spot patterns in energy use, material loss, or process settings.

  • Link production to cost – Bring in cost signals (e.g. energy per unit, waste costs) to track the financial impact directly through calculated KPI tags in dashboards.

🎯 Implement Strategic Solutions

  • Pick one initiative to go deep on – Like OEE, Clean-in-Place (CIP), or Energy Management on a specific unit or plant. Don’t try to boil the ocean!

  • Map what’s needed – Define the data, dashboards, and workflows to support it in TrendMiner.

  • Run a pilot – Prove the value in one line or site, then document and scale.

This isn’t about doing everything at once. Pick 2 to 3 areas to focus on, make a plan, and track your progress. Need help? Feel free to reach out to our Customer Success and Support teams. We’re happy to provide further guidance and best practices, or dedicated support through a service package!
