One of the things we value most in this Community is how much you learn from each other. So when Monument Chemical published an article on their website about how they use TrendMiner and AI, we wanted to share it here as a use case for all of you.
The challenge
Manufacturing specialty chemicals creates huge amounts of data: temperatures, flow rates, lab results, tank inventories. The value sits in connecting those sources and analyzing them quickly,  but gathering and analyzing it used to take hours.
The approach
Monument’s engineers use TrendMiner to bring data from multiple sources into one platform. Instead of spending hours gathering and analyzing data, the engineers can quickly compare production runs, spot patterns, identify potential issues, and find opportunities to improve.
The results at their Houston site
- About 60% less time from catalyst activation to a shippable tank
- A higher-purity product for a customer, found in years of historical data, without significantly longer production time
- Better monitoring of environmental conditions, so the team can act early
- Automated reporting that frees engineers for improvement work
